This was brought to my attention a few days ago. I figured I’d share it here with all the ITG players.
(This video was later removed) :-)

EDIT - I’ve been asked to remove this sensitive video. Sorry for the confusion…

Machine Dance Communities? December 18, 2007

After posting a comment on a forum, I thought I might bring up a much larger issue among the machine dance community.

I encourage everyone, whether you are active in 4 panel, 5 panel, Roxor, Konami or Andamiro dance game titles: Please look this over and consider giving your thoughts or opinions? Try do so without any bias towards what you do appreciate

“Communities” seem to be very different from the machine dance communities 5-8 years ago. We now live in a time where people feel the need to over analyze materials and/or recreate with possible hurtful intentions. Maybe ego related? Why now when this wasn’t as much the case then?
For example - When something new is known or released (youtube) you immediately are presented with opinions whether you want them or not. While this isn’t wrong, it seems to start off negative quickly. Much more then it use to in the past years.

While this is common today, it’s just hard to see these differences effect everyone today. The communities seemed to be different in good ways many years ago. What creates this need for such verbal emotion today?

Has it become harder for somebody to accept something for what it is rather then how they think it should be? Does a person feel the need to makes others agree with their opinions more now than previously? Maybe the internet has created this “safe-bubble” for people to be more vocal then before?

Why are people often different in person from the opinions they post about on forums?

As the future progresses for”Machine Dance” videogame titles, everyones involvement in their community key and very important. Please take just a moment to comment on your memories and/or involvement that brought you to enjoy these games and this concept for what they are. As a community, let us all come together share the potential future together!

What do you want to see change? What did you like that attracted you originally? Where do you hope that these games can take us all in the future?
Thanks!

Much to my surprise, ITG coninues to make news after the lawsuit presented by Konami Entertainment.

Here is a recent review that discusses the replay value of Konami’s latest DDR release, Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party. Have a look at the (worthplaying.com) article review HERE

Save your local ITG Machines! September 30, 2007

As of my arrival to the AMOA Vegas 2007 show, I was notified that Betson Enterprises now offers a “Conversion Kit” for all “In The Groove machines.” This upgrade retails for ~$4200.00 usd and converts all ITG cabinets into Dance Dance Revolution SuperNOVA.

BEWARE of these kits. Even after the death of the In The Groove series: the ITG spirit continues to live on through it’s established player communities all over the world. Betson/Konami will never change that!

New Downloads - Create your own Disconnected! January 15, 2007

Posted by Kyle Ward in : ITG, Music , 22comments

Today, I’ve added a new section to the downloads part of the site. I’ve now started to include “sample packs” for other musicians to use with their music creations. The first sample pack I’ve made available (by popular demand) is the famous “Disconnected” series from the Inspector K project. I’ve include my raw recordings and other material that was used for these original songs. It is my hope that this will help others create their own disconnecteds for years to come. Be sure to drop me a line and make me aware of your new disconnected mix once it’s ready! You can find the “sample packs” download link by viewing the entire FILE directory link. (Located HERE) Have fun! :)

Oslo Norway - SUCCESS! September 3, 2006

Well, I’m back in one piece thankfully! :O Foy and I had a lot of fun attending the Euro World Championships and I’ve finally added some photos to my Flickr page!

The concert went very well and a big THANK YOU goes out to “The Lost Satellites” for providing a video for the people that couldn’t make it. You can view a video of the performance and additional freestyle video from Foy and I HERE -

It was great to see all the players from around Europe enjoying ITG. IT’s been really exciting watching ITG grow (from the small beta test machine at Ilussionz) to all different parts of the world. I was quite impressed with the players I saw and I do believe the skill levels are climbing rapidly. Thank you Europe and Positive Gaming. Machine Dance is here to stay! :)
