Oscillator X

www.oscillatorx.com

I’m pleased to announce a brand new Oscillator X website! If you follow me on TWITTER or FACEBOOK, you’ve probably already seen the news about this.

The new site will be a very streamlined resource that (hopefully!) offers a simple interface that everyone will want to see (and hear) in one place.  We’ve made sure to keep things simple and without all the “flashy crap” that no one cares about anyway!   We hope to upload video, pictures, blogs and goodies to share with all the people who support our music.  Maybe you’ll learn more about us then you’d like to eh?  :-)  John and I welcome any feedback as we continue to tweak the site.  Please stop by and check it out and be sure to sign our OSCILLATOR X GUESTBOOK.

I’m also pleased to include that we’ve started off 2010 with a bang this year at SCI Recordings.  John Mendenhall and I plan to release a new Oscillator X CD by March 2010 and will spend additional time occupied with shows.  (things are already booked and getting more booked daily!)  We are excited for the upcoming CD and hope that  people will also enjoy our sound as it continues to develop.  This is really looking to be excellent year for Oscillator X Music.  Thanks to all our fans who’ve stuck by us and continued to inspire us to keep doing what we love.  Why do we continue?  Because we keep hearing from everyone about how they enjoy the songs and shows of course!  :-)

Additionally, I HAVE NOT forgotten about the my music roots from the alias projects.  One of my resolutions this year was to produce more of the stuff that you guys love.  I will soon finish up ENIGMA by Banzai and immediately start on fresh Smiley productions for the 2010 year.  I appreciate everyone being patient with me as my time goes towards OSX and iDANCE these days.  You will see another solo album released this year - It is my promise to myself and all the people who follow my music!

Positive Gaming - iDANCE

Stay tuned for iDANCE version2 news.  Our release date is near with the project and I know you guys are going to love it!  We are working on a new website and new media to compliment the game release.  More information will be released soon so keep an eye out for it.  2010 is going to be a great new year for rejuvenating 4 panel dance games!

IAAPA 2009 November 17, 2009

iaapa-2009

This week I’ll be in Las Vegas for the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions show.   IAAPA should be a very interesting show due to it’s relocation from Orlando FL in the past years.  The ASI/AMOA shows have also combined forces  in Las Vegas due to a decline in the amusement industry recently.  (economic times and arcade closures)

What will happen with dance/music games in the 2010 year?  I guess we’ll have to wait and see the announcements from show floor this year.  I’ll be sure to post about any interesting developments here.

I will be attending the show with Positive Gaming and the Exergame fitness crew this year!  We will be exploring the possibilities of a potential  iDANCE amusement product and meet about the upcoming iDANCE tour. (more info to come)  This does NOT mean we are announcing an arcade product for iDANCE just yet, but we are hopeful to make it possible in the future.

Exergame Fitness & iDANCE at Club Industry 2009 a success! October 20, 2009

I’m happy to report that the second showing of iDANCE (version 2 beta) was very successful at the Club Industry show in Chicago IL last week.  We are proud to be working with Exergame Fitness and their outstanding distribution team.  Fun times were had by all at booth 1229!

FACTS about the new iDANCE system taken from www.exergamefitness.com:

iDANCE Version 2 Features

iDANCE was the highlight multiplayer dance system from the 2009 Club Industry show.  Even our competitors (BluFit, by Cobalt Flux) came over to play on our new iDANCE  software and enjoy the fun that our dance team was having everyday.  Our iDANCE system relies on a single universal display for realtime feedback for up to 32 players.   Spectators enjoyed many of the new version 2 features and our iDANCE pads were packed during most of the show!  (new players as well as experienced dance game players!)

Thank you goes out to all the players & spectators who came and had fun with us during the show.  We all had a blast!

iDANCE continues it’s success at every show and I’m absolutely thrilled to be part of the team that is helping distribute the most advanced dance game product ever made.  Be on the lookout for an iDANCE system coming to an area near you soon!

iDANCE V2 beta at LIW 2009 - Birmingham, U.K. a success! September 27, 2009

idance-v2-beta-at-liw-2009-birmingham-uk-a-success

I’m very pleased to announce that the first presentation of the new beta of  iDANCE Version 2 was very successful at the Pulse fitness booth in 2009 LIW trade show in Birmingham, U.K.   We were told that Pulse had a record high interest that they’ve EVER had at previous shows.  iDANCE was one of four “Multiplayer dance systems” displayed at the show this year.

iDANCE features a completely new non Stepmania based engine that has been designed by our Positive Gaming team.  LIW 2009 was the first time that many of the new version 2 concepts were shown to the public!

Several players had great things to say about improvements that were made from the original version that premiered a year ago at LIW 2008.  iDANCE 2 will continue to make improvements off the original success of the “Multiplayer” concept that originally was conceptualized by Ole Petter Høie and the Positive Gaming crew years ago.  The idea has continued to expand and seems to be the future (in my mind) for dance game products today.

As many players are aware, Chris Foy and myself have joined the Positive Gaming team to help produce future versions of  iDANCE and promote the future of EXERGAMING.  We’ve both spent more time in Europe than we ever thought possible when we signed on to the project.  (our design work is based out of Europe)  Chris and I look forward to helping promote iDANCE with all of our global distributors in the coming months.  Please continue to check back for news/updates about our travels with iDANCE.

What can players expect in the future?  I can honestly say that I’ve never been so excited about the potential of a new dance game product in the past years.   Chris and I have continued to see a new audience build from our presentations at each event…  We are both incredibly excited about the market potential and future that lies ahead for iDANCE.  I believe this is the beginning of the future of dance games as we know them today.  Never before was it possible to actually play with up to 32 people in such a reliable and user friendly environment.   We are changing the future of dance game products with iDANCE!

I would like to encourage all players that are curious and/or have questions about iDANCE to comment on this posting.  I will do my best to answer your questions (if possible) and give some insight.  Please also be sure to check out some of the pictures and videos that I’ve collected from various sources below!

~Kyle

Day 2 - Songlist Day 2 - More players arrive for the fun! Day 2 - iDance full booth! Day 2 - many people check out iDANCE!

Oscillator X @ Electro-Pop Art Party : Tacoma, WA Aug 15th 2009 August 6, 2009

Electro Pop Art Party - Tacoma WA

What does Pop art have in common with electronic music?

Pop Art embraced commercial techniques by creating machine produced art. Electronic music embraces technology in place of more organic instruments.

The Electro-Pop Art Party is one you dare not miss.
Resistance is futile.

Portland band Oscillator X, fresh from their concert in Europe at the Arcade Dance International Championships in Amsterdam, will provide a world-class performance which includes their own customized light show complete with fog machine and air-powered confetti launchers in Tacoma at the Robert Daniel Gallery during the Electro-Pop Art Party.

The infectious dance grooves of Oscillator X can be heard in several video games including the In The Groove series, the Pump It Up series, iDance, Snake 360, Snowball Runner and others.

Oscillator X’s sound is often compared to artists as diverse as Eiffel 65, 2Unlimited, O-Zone and Daft Punk. Unlike many of today’s dance acts, Oscillator X is a bona fide band with both members writing and performing all of the music, both in the studio and at their dynamic live shows.

Oscillator X released their first album in late 2008 on their own record label, SCI Recordings. The first single “Dynamo” has hit #1 in several US radio markets including Tacoma’s own KVTI I-91 FM & Seattle’s C89.5 FM.
