A True Utopia… October 12, 2006

Posted by Kyle Ward in : Life , trackback

Evolution is a funny thing. Something starts, develops, and eventually finds the way. A foundation has been set! The future is very unclear and yet so bright. You can never go back to the beginning, yet you yearn to change the future from the past. Is it like a puzzle? Can results be manipulated from the ever changing pieces?

The journeys’ knowlege is always within. Would you have chosen a different equation now possessing the wisdom?

Thank you for contributing and making it possible.

how phylosophical of you kyle/// I believe evolution is just a reccurring process where history simply repeats itself over and over again. Its as if life is just a struggle for survival and evolution is one of our friends. The only flaw in evolution is regret.

I’m just waiting to see where and what this new Utopia you see is… but as long as someone in-the-loop such as yourself can see good things in the future… it’s a good sign! You’ve got a lot of fans in this world and we’re grateful for what you’ve given us and will be rooting for you in the future!

Everything everyone else said pretty much sums up everything I feel like saying. We all love your music, and love all the games you’ve made. ITG3 or not, I’ll always love what you guys put together.

But I’ll always hate you for licensing Dreams of Passion XD

So, the “journey” with a “bright future” is the apocalypse of dancing games? Why did it have to end this way!?

From now on, I’m boycotting Konami–I can’t imagine how they’ll screw up all you guys’ hard work (ITG 3rd Mix, Pandemonium 300, NAOKI vs. KaW songs, etc.). It’s utter blasphemy!

Just keep the fans (including myself) in mind: don’t stop making music and find a loophole in Konami’s “patent” or whatever–I won’t play another dancing game again unless it’s got two names plastered on it: Roxor and Kyle Ward.

I’m a real fan of your music and ITG and I am also boycotting Konami. I really can’t believe that they’d do something so dumb.

I’m an independent game developer myself, and I just can’t stand that a big coorporation has to crush any competition even small companies that literally started with two people.

Please continue making music, r21 will allow us to make nice stepcharts for a while. I’m sure that something will work out but until then good luck.

Man I’m really bummed to hear that happend. But then again that’s Konami for you. We can only hope this won’t affect the song lineup and game mechanics of In The Groove. I’m sure some good can come out of this though, maybe a new inspiration for a song? Well hopefully this won’t affect your music career so you can keep making great and inspiring music for all of us fans to listen to. :)

It was really really assy to take you out of the game. Konami needs to tough up and realize they cant cry to the courts when someone makes better game then them. This really pisses me off.

Kyle Ward, you are my hero, never stop making music, and I hope you can find someway to get Konami to keep making ITG the way you guys at RoXoR wanted it to be.

As a fanboy, I was extremely upset to hear how the settlement went between Roxor and Konami. I would really like to see more of your work, and couldn’t wait for ITG2 / PS2 or ITG3. Hopefully us fans can get ahold of them somehow. And hopefully you will keep putting out CD’s — your music is still some of my favorite, even without .sm files.

I guess life will go on… but you’re still my hero, man.

I’m just wondering, there’s a game making competition I’m entering and the rules say that you can use media from other artists and I was wondering if I could use some of your music.

It’ll be my tribute to the ITG series and your music.

Hi Kyle,

I suppose you are reffering to what happened with ITG. The day it was announced I was said, said a lot. I wondered what would happen to you. If we would be able to hear your music somewhere in the future or not. I also wonder what will happen with ITG. I’m still waiting for KONAMI’s announcement.
(not really boykotting KONAMI but I hate them for what they did to Roxor Games and ITG)

Maybe by a coincidence…the day of the said news my private life went wrong. I don’t understand how people can see a bright future ahead of them. I just don’t have that kind of ability or there is no hope left in me.

I hope that you really see some bright light and that everything you’ll do will make you happy.

Kyle is a talented and dtermined professional, and a person whose views are out in the open, thanks to the magic of the internet. I’m positive he’s not finished. He’s a musician/composer and I don’t think the world has heard all he has to offer yet. Some things will always go amiss in life in general, but as long as the world is turning, no problem can ever be insurmountable. And, less generally, I hope and believe that the RoXor fellows, Kyle among them, will find their way back to great things. Kyle called his thread “A True Utopia,” in the Smiley spirit of boundless optimism. I don’t think he was kidding himself or anyone else. I think he was for real. Things will be all right.

~Bo
